Day 100

Wow! 100 days of sharing my thoughts and insights! Amazing! I hope you have enjoyed the journey as much as I have. I thought today I'd discuss the importance of having a balance in your life. This was something that I use to struggle with, and occasionally still do! I pride myself on work and work very hard, I also love fitness and being active. But as you'll see as the blog goes on, there were aspects of my life that did lack.

So what are the areas of your life that you need to balance between? It's important when looking at all of these and developing goals associated to them, that you are realistic - there is only so much time in a day, and life is meant to be fun, not scheduled every minute of the day!

1. Family and home
This is an area that focuses on building a happy home and strong relationships with your family. An example of this could include a regular family dinner once a week, a scheduled phone call to touch base etc.

2. Financial and career
How sustainable do you need to be to not be worried about money? Do you want a career? If you do, what does it entail?

3. Spiritual and ethical
This may mean religion. But for most this is more about what are your morals are. What sits well with you? Do you meditate? How do you get in touch with what feels right? What do you believe in?

4. Physical and Health
A very important one as without your health and physical ability other areas will suffer. Your body is your vehicle of life. Looking after it is so important. What do you fuel your body with? What exercise do you do to keep your body fit and nimble?

5. Social and Cultural
How do you learn about other cultures? Do you want to travel? Learn a new language? Cook a different cuisine?

6. Mental and Educational
Keep your mind active! Daily tasks to keep you thinking are so important! Do you read? Or write? Do you want to study? Self-paced learning?

7. Time & Energy
How will you spend your time wisely? Let go of what is not working and be open to focus on new things. Block out your diary with colours - it'll not only look pretty but you'll be able to tell what you are doing in the week at a glance!

Writing this has reminded be the importance to sit and reflect and look at what your goals were, where they are and if they have changed! Do you know that 'going through the motions' feeling? I believe that comes from reaching the short term goals you set for yourself and you need to sit down and check what needs to change.

It also comes back to being so 'busy' without getting anything done. Do you know what I think is one of the things that work against us? Procrastination. Especially using TV or games on our phone to waste our precious time. So next time you find yourself staring aimlessly at some terrible reality tv show, think about what you could be doing to make your life whole.

…Until Tomorrow xox
