Day 6

I am sitting my computer tonight with a cup of tea next to me and some chocolate covered liquorice (Yep!! Guilty!!) and watching Harry Potter! What a beautiful relaxing start to a long weekend!

I had a big but productive day today. I was told that I would have at least until the end of the month off work, which was hard to hear as I would like to be back to "normal". There are many times in your life when you are on a roller coaster and it seems like your more down than up. So I went for a walk around my house - yep MY house (rental), I have a roof over my head, currently 2 beautiful dogs for company, and friends on the other end of the phone. Many positive things to be grateful for.

Day 6 photo: Many things to be grateful for.

I got given this book, from a beautiful friend, and there are some notes from family and friends after my accident. It was nice to remind myself that when you look closely enough on any given day, no matter how challenging the day has been, there are many things to be grateful for. I set a challenge for myself at the beginning of the year with inspiration from my best friend, to sit down at the end of each day and write 3 things to be grateful for. It is an interesting thing and as I look back on the journal - some days are simple things, such as 'Having a dog that loves me' or 'Having a fridge of food' other days they are a lot more philosophical like 'having the confidence in myself to say no' or 'the ability to make my own decisions and map out the life the way I would like to head it'.

It is really fascinating as you break it all down, we all have so many things to be grateful for, which we seem to overlook when times get tough. When I was looking for an image to put on here I came across a great website: http://365grateful.com - which sums up beautifully how becoming grateful everyday can change your life! :)

So I thought I would set you the same challenge! See if you can sit down tonight or over the weekend with pen and paper, your partner or a friend and come up with a list of what you are grateful for. It's so much fun, and I bet once you get started you won't stop. You will also feel happy and satisfied…and dare I say it… grateful!! Hehe.

I would love to hear how you go! And what you come up with! :)

I hope you have a lovely start to a long weekend!

…Until tomorrow xox
